Ribeira Brava, 13 Mai - Otávio Tavares, Ministro da Educação e Desporto, efectuou uma visita a S. Nicolau, de 10 a 12 de Maio. Do programa do governante constava um encontro de trabalho com o Presidente da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava, encontro com os professores e dirigentes desportivos, visita à Escola Secundária Baltasar Lopes da Silva, escolas do ensino básico integrado e a infra-estruturas desportivas.

No término da sua visita garantiu que a escola da Fajã vai ser requalificada e no próximo ano lectivo 2010/11 essa mesma escola deverá leccionar o 7º ano de escolaridade, transformando-se num estabelecimento de ensino com capacidade para leccionar até o 8º ano de escolaridade, enquadrado na política do Governo de passar a escolaridade obrigatória em Cabo Verde para oito anos.

A Escola Secundária Baltasar Lopes da Silva vai ser objecto de um projecto para a sua requalificação. Uma equipa constituída por técnicos do Ministério da Educação e Desporto e o Gabinete Técnico Municipal da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava já se encontra a trabalhar na elaboração de um projecto de requalificação da referida escola. O objectivo é o de incluir o orçamento da requalificação da escola secundária no próximo orçamento do Estado para o ano económico 2011.
