Ribeira Brava - 11 de Setembro. O Chefe de Estado de Estado Maior das Forças Armadas está de visita ao Município da Ribeira Brava, com o objectivo de, in loco, ver as condições de alojamento, alimentação e o estado de espírito do contingente militar que presta um serviço de carácter preventivo e de protecção civil na ilha de S. Nicolau.

Durante a sua estadia já terá assistido a um simulacro da protecção civil na cidade da Ribeira Brava, como forma de se prevenir contra as possíveis cheias e derrocadas no período das chuvas. No simulacro participaram elementos das Forças Armadas, do serviço Nacional da Protecção Civil, da Câmara Municipal, da Polícia Nacional, da Delegacia da Saúde e da Cruz vermelha. Ladeira da Igreja, zona de risco na cidade da Ribeira Brava, foi o local onde decorreram os exercícios de simulação.

O Chefe de Estado Maior das Forças Armadas manteve um encontro com o edil Américo Nascimento, no qual foram tratados assuntos ligados à permanência do contingente em Ribeira Brava e questões de cooperação entre as Forças Armadas e a Câmara Municipal.
