Ribeira Brava, 19 Out. - O Presidente da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava, Américo Nascimento, realizou uma visita oficial ao concelho de Abrantes, nos dias 13 e 14 de Outubro. Estreitar as relações entres os dois municípios geminados foi o objectivo da deslocação. O autarca realizou reuniões de trabalho com a sua homologa de Abrantes e com a associação de geminação para fazer o ponto de situação sobre projectos em desenvolvimento no âmbito da geminação, como é o caso do Projecto “Padrinh”, que já permitiu o apadrinhamento de 200 crianças do município da Ribeira Brava por famílias de Abrantes.
Os “padrinhos” contribuem na aquisição de material escolar junto de famílias com dificuldades económicas. Américo Nascimento visitou o Tecnopolo do Vale do Tejo, onde se inteirou do funcionamento do Projecto “Prove”, localmente promovido pela Tagus. Participou ainda num almoço com alunos bolseiros de Cabo-Verde na EPDRA – Escola Profissional de Desenvolvimento Rural (Mouriscas). Visitou a ESTA – Escola Superior de Tecnologia de Abrantes, que também acolhe alunos do município da Ribeira Brava. O programa terminou com uma reunião com o IPT - Instituto Politécnico de Tomar para análise do Projecto de Preservação da Traça Arquitectónica Portuguesa em Ribeira Brava. Deste encontro com os responsáveis pelo IPT/ESTA foi também abordada a possibilidade de criação de um programa de cooperação para apoio à instalação de um sistema de formação à distância. O presidente Américo Nascimento explicou a importância da instalação de uma sala de videoconferência no município da Ribeira Brava. Para além da vertente da formação, a infra-estrutura permitiria também uma aproximação à comunidade escolar radicada em Abrantes, ajudando a quebrar a distância geográfica. Entretanto, até 22 de Novembro está a realizar-se a campanha “Natal Solidário para Ribeira Brava”, que consiste na angariação de roupa de criança, roupa de cama e brinquedos. Esta acção de solidariedade para com o município geminado tem a colaboração da Juntas de Freguesia do Concelho, os Agrupamentos escolares e a EPDRA, locais onde os cidadãos podem entregar os seus donativos.Durante a estadia, os autarcas dos concelhos geminados foram entrevistados nas duas rádios locais: Antena Livre e Rádio Tágide.
