Ribeira Brava, 21 Out. - De uma manisfestção pública da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava, por ocasião das comemorações dos 278 anos da Vila da Ribeira Brava, o edil, Américo Nascimento, apresentou ao governo de Cabo verde uma proposta de elevação da Vila Ribeira Brava a categoria de Património Nacional. Em reacção, o Conselho de Ministros, através da resolução nº 54/2010, no seu artigo 1º, de 18 de Outubro, publicado no boletim oficial nº 40, I Série,  classifica, como património histórico nacional, a Vila da Ribeira Brava, hoje, elevada a categoria de Cidade. Segundo o Presidente da Câmara Municipal, Ribeira Brava, ganha, por mérito próprio, esta distinção, por tambem representar, sobretudo, a determinação da sua populaçãopatrimonio_nacional.jpg em vencer a batalha do desenvolvimento.
