ave.jpgterreiro.jpgRibeira Brava, 8 Dez. - Cairá o pano sobre o programa das actividades da Festa do Município da Ribeira Brava e do Santo Padroeiro da ilha – Senhor São Nicolau – quando, no dia 12 do corrente, domingo, se ficar a conhecer o vencedor do final do concurso de vozes que terá início pelas 17 horas, no polivalente do Seminário. O dia 6 de Dezembro, aniversário da descoberta da ilha, foi repleto de actividades que deixaram o ribeirabravense orgulhoso e mais confiante no seu futuro: no período de manhã, a Igreja matriz recebeu os fiéis na celebração da missa seguida de procissão. Pelas 19 horas o Salão Nobre dos Paços do Concelho foi palco de uma sessão solene a homenagear o Munícipe e a nóvel cidade da Ribeira Brava; seguidamente, no Largo do Terreiro e defronte à Igreja Matriz, procedeu-se à bênção e entrega de uma ambulância à Delegacia de Saúde da ilha; imediatamente a seguir, foi inaugurado um novo repuxo na Praça Dr. Júlio formado por uma escultura em pedras vulcânicas encimada por uma garça boieira, ave migratória, em homenagem ao nosso emigrante, da autoria do artista Emanuel Cabral (Manu Rasta). O auge aconteceria com a actuação do conjunto «Cordas de Sol» cuja exibição fez vibrar a multidão que enchia, por completo, o Largo do Terreiro.
