Ribeira Brava, 25 de Fev. - O Presidente da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava, Américo Nascimento, acompanhado dos vereadores Carlos Barbosa e Carlos Gomes, visitaram, no dia 24 do corrente mês, a Escola Secundária Baltasar Lopes da Silva, com o objectivo de discutir com a Direcção e os professores a questão da requalificação desse estabelecimento de ensino.

Na ocasião foi efectuada uma reunião com a Direcção e os professores, durante a qual a Câmara manifestou a sua total disponibilidade em trabalhar em parceria com o Ministério da Educação para a elaboração do projecto de requalificação desse estabelecimento de ensino, adequando às novas exigências de uma escola virada para o futuro e com valências de formação técnica.

O Presidente da Câmara, Américo Nascimento, num breve encontro com os alunos do terceiro ciclo, informou que dentro em breve a Câmara, em parceria com a Direcção da escola, instalará uma praça digital e que, ainda neste ano a escola estará incluída no sistema E-GOV, um projecto do Governo para o desenvolvimento das novas tecnologias nas instituições públicas, com a possibilidade de vídeo-conferência, formação à distância, entre outras possibilidades que as novas tecnologias permitem, através da banda larga.

O Presidente da Câmara aproveitou a oportunidade para oferecer à Escola Secundária Baltasar Lopes da Silva oito computadores, para a melhoria do seu parque informático.

A Direcção da escola agradeceu à Câmara Municipal todos os apoios concedidos, com particular destaque para a remodelação da sala especializada de orientação e acompanhamento dos alunos e à atribuição dos prémios aos três melhores alunos do 12º ano.
