Ribeira Brava, 18 Maio - A Assembleia Municipal da Ribeira Brava, reunida no dia 17 de Maio corrente, aprovou, por unanimidade, os novos estatutos do Serviço Autónomo de Água da Ribeira Brava. Conforme fundamentação apresentada pelo Presidente da Câmara Municipal, Américo Nascimento, o Serviço sofreu uma profunda transformação: de uma instituição altamente criticada pela população até há menos de 4 anos atrás, passou para uma estrutura com uma melhoria substancial na prestação de serviço à população.

Por outro lado, é notória a grande expansão da rede de água pelas várias localidades o que, associado à instalação, para breve, do projecto da dessalinização, faz com que o Serviço Autónomo de Água tenha a necessidade de novos instrumentos de gestão, como o Plano de Cargos Carreiras e Salários e o Regulamento Interno.

Convém recordar que a Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava tem a água como uma das suas principais preocupações, pretendendo, até o final do mandato, levar esse precioso líquido a 95% das casas do Município.
