Preguiça tem rua com nome de santo

Ribeira Brava, 27 Maio - No dia 20 do corrente, pelas 16 horas e 30 minutos, na povoação da Preguiça, foi descerrada, pelas mãos do Presidente da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava, a placa que ostenta o nome da rua recém-traçada e calcetada: RUA SANTO ANTÓNIO. Essa via que liga a estrada à escola do Ensino Básico daquela localidade veio valorizar todas as moradias contíguas a ela e dar ao local um novo visual e melhores condições de salubridade.
O acto contou com a presença de residentes e de alguns amigos que para ali se deslocaram. Um representante dos moradores usou da palavra para agradecer a Câmara Municipal na pessoa do seu presidente e pedir aos habitantes da Preguiça que valorizem essa obra bem assim todas as outras que estão em curso nessa localidade como prova de que a Câmara Municipal, de facto, está a fazer pela Preguiça aquilo que há muito não se via.
O Presidente da Câmara, na sua alocução, disse que tanto essa via como a construção do Cacifo para Pescadores, já construído, estiveram nas prioridades da população e, neste momento pode-se afirmar que a Preguiça é daqueles povoados que podem vangloriar-se com realizações da Câmara Municipal tendo evidenciado a construção da dessalinizadora, num valor superior a cem milhões de escudos cabo-verdianos, o que põe o nome da Preguiça num patamar de grande visibilidade.
