Ribeira Brava, 20 de Setembro. No passado sábado, dia 17 do corrente, o Presidente da Câmara Municipal, Dr. Américo Nascimento acompanhado dos seus vereadores e dos técnicos do Gabinete Técnico (Engenheiro e Arquitecta), reuniu-se no Salão Nobre para, das mãos dos técnicos da CETURBE (Centro de Estudos Territoriais e Urbanísticos), receber e discutir os últimos pormenores daquele que vai ser o Plano Director Municipal (PDM) para o Município da Ribeira Brava.
O PDM define-se como um instrumento de planeamento que rege a organização espacial do território Municipal e tem por objecto a delimitação das áreas urbanas e peri-urbanas; a qualificação das áreas não urbanizáveis; a localização dos principais equipamentos públicos, o estabelecimento do traçado esquemático da rede viária e das infra-estruturas urbanísticas; a delimitação das áreas a abranger por plano de desenvolvimento urbano e por plano detalhado.
Com as várias contribuições dos presentes, espera-se, dentro de um horizonte bem curto, ter disponível esse valioso instrumento que vai garantir à Câmara Municipal um domínio real sobre o seu território e, em função disso, agir em conformidade para o desenvolvimento progressivo e harmonioso do Município.
