Enquadrado nas festividades do dia do Município da Ribeira Brava e no âmbito da política da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava para a área social, dirigida às camadas mais desfavorecidas, no domínio da saúde e bem-estar da população, vão ser entregues 28 casas-de-banho, nas localidades de Preguiça, Calejão, Talho, Campinho, Água das Patas e Cidade da Ribeira Brava.

 

O acto de entrega terá lugar hoje, segunda-feira, dia 10, e contará com as presenças do Presidente da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava, Américo Nascimento, e do Chefe da Cooperação Luxemburguesa, Thierry Lippert

A construção das 28 casas-de-banho foi financiada pelos Fundos de Contrapartida da Ajuda Alimentar do Luxemburgo.

É de destacar que 2011 é um ano de efemérides para o município já que a Câmara Municipal, foi criada a 30 de Agosto de 1731 e, nessa mesma ocasião, Ribeira Brava foi elevada à categoria de Vila, ou seja: há 280 anos atrás. Por outro lado, a 06 de Dezembro, dia do Município e do santo padroeiro – S. Nicolau – completam-se 550 anos da descoberta desta ilha.
