A sessão solene realizada no salão nobre da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava, foi presidida pela Senhora Ministra Adjunta e da Saúde, Cristina Fontes Lima, contando ainda com a presença da Reverendíssima Bispo de Mindelo, Dom Ildo Fortes.
Durante a sessão foram distinguidas oito personalidades ilustres do Município, nomeadamente, Doutor Júlio José Dias, Doutor Manuel Ferreira Camões (Doutor Camões), Antónia Pusich, José Alves, António Rosário Duarte (Nho António Julinhe), João de Deus Lopes da Silva (nho Jonzinhe Lopes), Professor João Lopes Filho, Maria Augusta Martins (Nha Mana Guimara) e uma instituição, a Fábrica de conservas SUCLA.
Nessa sessão solene a Câmara Municipal foi representada pelo Vereador Carlos Barbosa, substituto do Presidente Américo Nascimento.
