O polivalente da Preguiça foi inaugurado pelo Presidente da Câmara, Américo Nascimento, enquadrado no programa de infraestruturação desportiva do Município.
A população, particularmente a sua juventude, mostrou a sua satisfação por essa bela infraestrutura desportiva que será mais uma alternativa para a ocupação dos seus tempos livres.
No local da antiga placa desportiva que se encontrava em elevado estado de degradação, foi construído um excelente polivalente, um dos melhores da ilha de São Nicolau.
A Câmara Municipal entregou a gestão do Polivalente à Académica, equipa revelação do campeonato regional de futebol de São Nicolau.
Américo Nascimento era um homem visivelmente satisfeito, tendo apelado a uma gestão cuidadosa do polivalente, fazendo referência aos largos investimentos feitos pela Câmara Municipal na criação de condições para a prática desportiva, um pouco por todo o Município.
