A 15 de Agosto, Dia Municipal do Emigrante, o Presidente da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava, Américo Nascimento, perante a honrosa presença da Senhora Ministra das Comunidades, Fernanda Fernandes e dos emigrantes em férias, foi inaugurado o miradouro do Caminho Novo.


O miradouro, com uma vista majestosa sobre o Vale da Ribeira Brava, de onde se pode ter um óptimo panorama do Monte Cintinha. Esta é mais uma pedra que se coloca no roteiro turístico do Município da Ribeira Brava e da ilha de São Nicolau.


O miradouro é a primeira obra inaugurada no novo mandato do Presidente da Câmara Municipal, Américo Nascimento, reeleito a 01 de Julho do corrente ano.


Coincidência ou não o Gabinete de Apoio ao Emigrante foi a primeira inauguração do primeiro mandato de Américo Nascimento.


Recorde-se que o dia do emigrante foi instituído em 2008 e a partir dessa data foi comemorado todos os anos com várias actividades.
