A Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava realizou nos dias 30 e 31 Agosto, em parceria com a Comissão de Coordenação do Combate à Droga (CCCD), uma Jornada de Reflexão “O Papel da Família na Prevenção ao uso de Drogas” como forma de combater este fenómeno no município onde o álcool tem sido motivo de preocupação do poder central.
O propósito do evento foi o de promover um espaço de debate aberto, franco e objetivo sobre o papel da família na prevenção ao uso das drogas dando a conhecer, através do diálogo e troca de experiências, as crenças, valores, atitudes e comportamentos dos participantes em relação àquilo que deve ser uma relação entre pais e filhos.
Outrossim, a jornada de reflexão pretende trazer aos pais, novos conceitos para reflexão e subsequente passagem à acção, de forma mais adequada, para ajudar os filhos a desenvolverem hábitos saudáveis.
A edilidade esteve envolvida no acontecimento, pois, diminuir o uso das drogas no concelho faz parte das metas traçadas pelo executivo camarário.
A jornada de Reflexão foi, a par de outras iniciativas, mais um passo na procura de soluções para o combate ao uso das drogas que a autarquia tem desenvolvido.
O álcool assume uma posição de destaque entre as drogas que circulam no município e, com o intuito de minimizar o seu uso e suas consequências, a Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava deliberou, em Outubro de 2010, a Suspensão Temporária de Licenças para Abertura de Bares.
