Embaixadora dos EUA elogia gestão municipal da Ribeira Brava

A embaixadora dos Estados Unidos da América (EUA), Adrienne O’Neal, que esteve no município na semana passada, elogiou a gestão municipal de Américo Nascimento, dizendo que o concelho está a ser governado com uma visão estratégica que vai impulsionar o seu desenvolvimento.
Depois de visitar algumas zonas e projectos do município, Adrienne O’Neal ficou encantada com dois em especial – o lar de estudante e a sala multi-usos no edifício da Comissão Regional de Parceiros (CRP) que ainda não estão equipados.
A visita a essas duas infraestruturas, cuja construção já foi concluída, teve como propósito negociar alguma forma de financiamento para as equipar.
Apesar de não adiantar de que forma vai ser feito o financiamento por parte dos EUA, a embaixadora garantiu que o seu país irá dar o seu contributo para ajudar a terminar estes dois projectos.
Por outro lado, a diplomata elogiou a agricultura que se pratica na ilha, dada a variedade de culturas que pôde verificar na sua ida ao Vale de Fajã, para visitar os projectos financiados no âmbito do projecto Millennium Challenge Account (MCA).
Adrienne O’Neal mostrou-se surpreendida com a capacidade dos agricultores no uso de técnicas modernas de agricultura, que nas suas palavras mostra uma mente voltada para ciência.
A embaixadora partiu para a cidade da Praia encantada com a beleza da ilha, que classificou com uma das mais belas do país e cuja orografia singular conquistou a americana.
