A Câmara Municipal já está a preparar, juntamente com ao Ministério da Educação e Desporto (MED), as actividades para assinalar o Dia do Desporto Cabo-Verdiano, que este ano acontece no dia 04 de Novembro.

 

 Uma equipa da Câmara Municipal reuniu-se com um técnico da direcção-geral dos Desportos, Anildo Santos, com a finalidade de apresentar e propor actividades a serem realizadas de 02 a 04 de Novembro, nas modalidades de atletismo e ciclismo, com representação nacional.

No entanto, pretende-se, durante o mês de Outubro, realizar actividades desportivas paralelas, a nível regional.

A Câmara Municipal acolheu a proposta de realização das actividades do Dia do Desporto Cabo-Verdiano com muita satisfação e estará empenhada para que este dia seja bem organizado e tenha um grande impacto no município.

 Por outro lado, as actividades alusivas ao Dia do Desporto Cabo-Verdiano vãi estar enquadradas nas comemorações do Dia do Municipio que se assinala a 6 de Dezembro, trazendo deste modo, actividades de carácter nacional às festas municipais.

Para a ocasião, pretende-se mobilizar o maior número possível de alunos, pois a ideia é despertar nos mais pequenos uma cultura desportiva e massificar a prática de modalidades como o voleibol e o basquetebol que ainda têm muito pouca expressividade na ilha.
