Emigrantes homenageados com rua em seu nome, na zona de Juncalinho

Os emigrantes ribeira-bravenses foram homenageados sexta-feira com a inauguração da Rua do Emigrante em Juncalinho, um reconhecimento da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava pela sua importante colaboração no desenvolvimento do município.
A inauguração foi presidida pelo Primeiro-Ministro, José Maria Neves, que se encontrava em São Nicolau para outra inauguração, também ela importante para o concelho, a inauguração da Estrada Ribeira Brava/ Aeroporto de Preguiça.
Os emigrantes definidos pelo presidente da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava, Américo Nascimento, como munícipes especiais que, apesar de estarem fora do país, estão sempre a acompanhar aquilo que se passa no município, daí a sincera homenagem a eles feita nesse dia.
O Primeiro-Ministro, José Maria Neves, elogiou o timing da Camara Municipal em homenagear os emigrantes no mês em que se comemora o Dia das Comunidades, dia 18 de Outubro, enaltecendo o seu contributo no desenvolvimento de Ribeira Brava, principalmente a nível económico e financeiro.
“A Rua do Emigrante, é não só uma forma de aumentar a auto-estima dos ribeira-bravenses, mas também uma mostra de que a edilidade está empenhada na melhoria da qualidade de vida das pessoas, fazendo da Câmara Municipal uma referência no país”, garantiu José Maria Neves.
Esta é mais uma actividade integrada nas festas do Dia do Município, e Juncalinho vai ter outro presente – a extensão da rede de água até à comunidade, fazendo jus ao lema “cada um tem direito a sê gota d’água”.
Para a posteridade ficou reforçada, por parte dos dois governantes, a promessa de elevação de Juncalinho para a categoria de vila, uma meta que dizem ser uma “tarefa de todos”.
