Belém já tem a sua Fábrica de Queijo

A fábrica de queijo de Belém já é uma realidade e vai dar emprego directo a 13 mulheres chefes de família da zona. A unidade, montada de raiz, vai processar 500 litros de leite por hora e a sua produção vai estar virada preferencialmente para o mercado das ilhas do Sal e da Boa Vista.
Concebida para funcionar em duas unidades pré-fabricadas importadas da Itália, pelo Ministério de Desenvolvimento Rural (MDR), a fábrica representa um investimento de sete mil contos em equipamentos de pasteurização, confecção de queijo e requeijão, espaço de armazenamento, câmara de frio e ainda meios de empacotamento.
A matéria-prima necessária para a produção será fornecida pelos criadores locais que vão passar por um processo de sensibilização quanto aos tipos de criação, ordenha e tratamento de transformação.
Conforme explicações do delegado do MDR em São Nicolau, Adilson Melício, a estrutura vai produzir 160 queijos de 350 gramas e cerca de 60 quilos de ricota, tudo a um baixo custo já que a unidade vai funcionar à base de energia solar.
Para Adilson Melício, a nova fábrica de queijo representa a aposta do Governo na produção de qualidade, cada vez mais industrializada, para criar a “Marca São Nicolau”, que usando das palavras da ministra do Desenvolvimento Rural, Eva Ortet tem um dos melhores queijos de Cabo Verde.
A primeira pedra da fábrica de queijo de Belém foi lançada em 2007 pelo presidente da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava, Américo Nascimento, que no acto da inauguração, que aconteceu quinta-feira passada, é preciso persistência para concretizar os objectivos traçados.
A fábrica ora inaugurada é, sem dúvida, o resultado da persistência que vai continuar a levar o nosso município rumo ao desenvolvimento sempre com investimentos que visem a luta contra a pobreza no meio rural.
