Grupo Ferro Gaita é cabeça de cartaz das festas do Dia do Município 2012

O grupo musical Ferro Gaita é o cabeça de cartaz das festas do Dia do Município 2012 e que vai animar o Baile Popular ao ritmo dos sons quentes do funaná.
Para animar as noites dos dias 01 e 02 de Dezembro, os dois dias reservados para o Baile Popular, chega também da Holanda o grupo Pau e Corda.
Ainda na esfera cultural, várias outras actividades fazem parte da agenda para as actividades comemorativas do Dia do Município para este ano. Juntando-se ao teatro e à dança, a música tradicional vai ter o seu espaço com a realização de um Gala de Violinistas.
A zona de Preguiça vai estar em destaque com uma exposição fotográfica, denominada “Amoramar” do fotógrafo, saonicolauense, Nuno de Pina e também vai ser lançado um livro de Martinho Andrade, também ele de São Nicolau.
O desporto vai estar representado com torneios de futsal e de futebol não federado, disputado num torneio quadrangular entre as melhores equipas do município na época 2011/2012 e com a equipa de Santa Maria, da ilha do Sal como convidada.
O ponto alto das actividades ligadas ao desporto será a IV edição da Gala do Desporto que vai premiar aqueles que durante o ano de 2011/2012 se destacaram em várias modalidades desportivas.
Para além das actividades desportivas e culturais, um conjunto de inaugurações fazem parte do programa. Assim, por estes dias, vão ser inauguradas as 10 moradias para jovens quadros, na zona de Chã de Norte, a interligação e adução de água Ribeira Brava/Juncalinho, entre outras.
O vereador da Cultura, Carlos Barbosa, explicou que o orçamento disponibilizado é de 1.500 contos, que se junta aos patrocínios disponibilizados por algumas empresas. Carlos Barbosa espera, para este ano, a habitual participação e civismo dos munícipes que tem pontuado nas festas do Município ribeira-bravense.
De referir que as actividades comemorativas do Dia do Município começaram a 12 de Outubro com a inauguração da Residência Estudantil, uma obra financiada pelo Governo Japonês.
Outras inaugurações, projectos do Governo, e eventos de âmbito nacional foram enquadrados nas comemorações, quais sejam a inauguração da estrada Aeroporto/Ribeira Brava, a II edição do Fórum Cultural Nacional e as actividades alusivas ao Dia do Desporto Cabo-Verdiano, que este ano teve como palco central o concelho da Ribeira Brava.
