Caras e caros Munícipes,
Estamos a chegar ao fim de mais um ano. O mês de Dezembro é um mês especial por várias razões: é o último mês do calendário, em que habitualmente fazemos o balanço de cada ano; é o mês do Natal, em que se comemora o nascimento de Jesus Cristo; é o mês da solidariedade; é o mês da família; mas também é o mês em que assinalamos o Dia do Município da Ribeira Brava e de S. Nicolau – santo padroeiro da ilha com mesmo nome.
No decorrer deste ano 2012 fizemos uma caminhada juntos, de sucessos e de desafios. Juntos, foi possível levar avante muitas realizações, mas ainda há muitos desafios que devemos, juntos, enfrentar.
Enquanto Presidente da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava, mas principalmente enquanto munícipe, sinto uma grande felicidade pessoal quando somos capazes de realizar o bem comum, com obras e acções concretas que conseguem projectar o Município para novos patamares de desenvolvimento.
O município da Ribeira Brava conta com todos os seus munícipes, estejam eles no território municipal, nas outras ilhas ou na diáspora, para darem a sua contribuição, mesmo que modesta, para o desenvolvimento do seu torrão natal. A conjuntura não é fácil e, por isso, a dedicação ao trabalho, a solidariedade, a criatividade, o empenho em resolver os problemas e a vontade de vencer têm que ser cada vez maiores. Existe um ditado que diz que é nos momentos difíceis que conhecemos os verdadeiros amigos. Fazendo uma analogia, podemos dizer que é nos momentos difíceis que conhecemos os verdadeiros munícipes.
Acreditamos nas potencialidades do Município da Ribeira Brava e é por isso que dia-a-dia, sol a-sol, continuaremos a trabalhar juntos, para termos mais e melhor água, mais e melhor agricultura, mais e melhor pecuária, mais e melhores estradas, mais e melhor habitação, mais e melhor educação, enfim mais e melhor qualidade de vida. No ano 2013 vamos continuar a trabalhar nessa senda, com muito mais empenho, procurando fazer, com menos, mais e melhor.
Aproveito esta quadra festiva para desejar a todos os munícipes um Santo Natal e um Ano Novo de muito trabalho e muitas realizações, com muita paz e solidariedade e principalmente com muita saúde.
