A cantora Cesária Évora vai dar nome à avenida que vai desde o Lombinho até a bifurcação com a estrada da Ribeira Brava/Tarrafal.

 

A atribuição do nome da falecida cantora à alameda é uma digna homenagem que a Câmara Municipal quer prestar à artista que imortalizou a morna “Sodade”, um grande património imortal de São Nicolau, escrita por Armando Zeferino Soares.

A proposta foi apresentada ontem à Assembleia Municipal e foi aprovada por unanimidade, pois falar de Cesária Évora no mundo é falar de Cabo Verde, e Cize valorizou a nossa música e o nosso país de forma notável, cantando e encantando, pelos quatro cantos do mundo, com a sua melodiosa voz.

No ano em que se completa um ano do desaparecimento físico da “diva dos pés descalços”, a Câmara Municipal quis, desta forma, expressar o seu preito àquela que foi a rainha da morna e que merece todo o reconhecimento dos cabo-verdianos e de Cabo Verde.
