A Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava já tem 30 por cento do valor total necessário para implementar o projecto de abastecimento de energias renováveis na zona de Carriçal graças a um financiamento conseguido junto do Fundo Mundial para o Ambiente.
No âmbito do projecto GEF para Cabo Verde promovido pela United Nations Industrial Developement Organisation (UNIDO) em colaboração com o Centro Regional da CEDEAO para Energias Renováveis e Eficiência Energética (ECREEE), foi identificado o Projecto de Electrificação de Carriçal como Projecto Demonstrativo para ser co-financiado pelo projecto GEF, com uma comparticipação estipulada de cerca de 5.710.500 ECV.
O valor total do Projecto de Electrificação do Carriçal através das chamadas energias limpas é de 19 mil contos e a Câmara Municipal enquanto promotora do projecto fica com o desafio de encontrar parceiros para os restantes 70 por cento.
Garantindo a cooperação de novos parceiros, ficam reunidas as condições para que, até o final do ano, seja possível ter 100 por cento de energias renováveis no Carriçal.
De realçar que hoje o presidente, Américo Nascimento recebeu o gestor do projecto, o engenheiro Jansénio Delgado, com o intuito de serem analisados os aspectos ligados à implementação do Projecto de Electrificação do Carriçal, através das energias limpas.
