Na zona do Carriçal algumas infraestruturas públicas usufruem, a partir de hoje, de energia eléctrica graças a um painel solar instalado ontem por uma equipa de técnicos da ONG luxemburguesa, Cap Vert Espoir et Développement que veio de propósito fazer o trabalho.
Graças a uma parceria entre a ONG e a Câmara de Fuellen, no Luxemburgo e com a qual a edilidade da Ribeira Brava tem uma geminação, foi instalada uma pequena central fotovoltaica na localidade do Carriçal.
De agora em diante, a energia vai ser 24 horas por dia durante todo o ano no Centro Social, no jardim-de-infância, na escola e também na Unidade Sanitária de Base (USB).
Mas os projectos para a electrificação da zona através de energias limpas não ficam por aqui. Há um outro projecto que vem sendo desenvolvido há dois anos e para o qual a Câmara Municipal já conseguiu um financiamento de mais de cinco mil contos através do Fundo Mundial para o Ambiente.
O montante ora conseguido, representa 30 por cento do valor total do projecto que custa 19 mil contos. O desafio agora é encontrar outros parceiros para os restantes 70 por cento e assim dar seguimento ao projecto para que Carriçal tenha electricidade com base em energias renováveis até o final do ano.
