A Câmara Municipal homenageou esta sexta-feira o jovem futebolista Nivaldo Alves Freitas dos Santos, conhecido no meio desportivo como Tax pelo grandioso contributo que tem dado, quer no futebol quer a nível nacional, quer a nível internacional e que tem elevado o nome do município e do país.
O Salão Nobre dos Paços do Concelho encheu-se de gente. Familiares, amigos, desportistas, dirigentes desportivos, todos quiseram estar presentes numa cerimónia singela mas carregada de emoção.
No acto de homenagem ao jovem de 24 anos foi possível ver uma pequena reportagem da televisão nacional sobre um dos mais jovens “Tubarões Azuis” que antecedeu à entrega do diploma pelas mãos do presidente, Américo Nascimento.
Convidado a proferir algumas palavras sobre Nivaldo, um vizinho e também colega de equipa de Belo Horizonte, onde o jovem começou a sua carreira futebolística, Pedro Morais com a voz embargada expressou a alegria de Juncalinho ter um nome tão sonante na Selecção Nacional de Futebol.
Por outro lado, Pedro Morais enalteceu o gesto da autarquia que, usando das suas palavras, está de parabéns pelo reconhecimento do valioso contributo de Tax.
O presidente Américo Nascimento, também dedicou palavras de incentivo ao jovem que mostrou desde cedo que quando há querer há poder.
Pelo seu empenhamento e contribuição pelos notáveis resultados alcançados pela selecção de todos nós contribuindo para a elevação do nome de Cabo Verde, do seu município da Ribeira Brava e especialmente do povoado de Juncalinho, terra onde Nivaldo nasceu, o edil justificou a atribuição do Diploma de Mérito Desportivo.
No final Nivaldo também agraciou o presidente comum a camisola 18 da Selecção Nacional, número que o jogador ostenta.
