Zonas de Pombas e Mofina já têm água a domicílio

As zonas de Pombas e Mofina já dispõem de água do Torno canalizada para regozijo da população que louva mais esta realização da autarquia e que de agora em diante têm as condições de acesso à água melhoradas.
A inauguração foi feita este fim-de-semana, um acto que foi presidido pelo Primeiro-Ministro de Cabo Verde, José Maria Neves e que contou com a presença do chefe da Cooperação Luxemburguesa, Marc Debourcy.
A adução de água a estas duas comunidades teve um custo de cerca de 15 mil contos, numa extensão de oito quilómetros e eleva para a casa dos 70 por cento a cobertura de água no vale da Ribeira Brava.
Na sua intervenção, o primeiro-ministro engrandeceu os esforços da autarquia em cumprir mais um objectivo, pois foi graças à perseverança do executivo camarário que se conseguiu, numa cooperação entre os governos do Luxemburgo e de Cabo Verde, através dos Fundos de Contrapartida Alimentar Luxemburguesa, o financiamento necessário.
“Hoje podemos constatar o esforço que foi feito para trazer água do outro lado (nascente do Torno) até aqui em Pombas…”salientou José Maria Neves.
Isto porque muitos foram os constrangimentos encontrados na efectivação deste projecto já que o terreno acidentado e a distância entre a nascente do Torno e o vale da Ribeira Brava, assim como a dispersão entre as casas foram dificuldades registadas.
Mas porque a água é uma sina no município, pelo que a sua mobilização sempre foi e vai continuar a ser um dos grandes desafios da sua equipa, Américo Nascimento diz que é com alegria que se inaugura mais esta adução de água.
Num futuro próximo, o desafio é levar água às restantes zonas da região que já tem mais de 70 por cento de cobertura de rede de água.
Por outro lado, o objectivo global é o projecto de levar água canalizada a todo o município até 2015.
Por sua vez o representante da Cooperação Luxemburguesa diz-se satisfeito pela realização deste importante projecto desejando que a população possa fazer bom uso do mesmo.
Representando a população, Nha Nitcha, de 93 anos disse, com lágrimas nos olhos que foi o realizar de sonho poder ver água a sair da torneira.
O município da Ribeira Brava já conta, actualmente, com uma cobertura de rede de água a domicilio de mais de 85 por cento.
