A Câmara Municipal vai assinalar as datas 13 e 20 de Janeiro, Dia da Liberdade e da Democracia e Dia dos Heróis Nacionais, respectivamente, com a organização de um torneio Futsal inter instituições e com a assinatura de contratos com famílias carenciadas no âmbito do programa “Uma família, uma casa de banho”.


Os preparativos para que o torneio se realize estão a ser feitos e deverá começar no dia 13 e terminar no dia 20 do corrente.
Por outro lado, a segunda fase do programa de âmbito social “Uma Família, Uma casa de Banho”, é outra actividade na agenda e pretende a assinatura de mais 15 contratos com famílias carenciadas, desta feita da zona leste da ilha.
Recorde-se que em Novembro foram assinados contratos com 15 famílias do Vale de Fajã, e que já receberam os materiais para equiparem as suas casas de banho, sendo que o orçamento para cada casa de banho não ascende os 65 mil escudos.
Este projecto está desenhado para debelar o problema da falta de casas de banho no concelho, principalmente no meio rural, visando melhorar as condições de vida da população e a saúde pública de forma geral.
A contrapartida é que cada família beneficiada deverá ter a estrutura física da casa de banho, a qual deverá equipar, depois de receber os materiais, num período de três meses a contar da data entrega.
No entanto não se descarta a hipótese de apoiar aquelas em contrariamente têm os materiais para equipar a casa de banho e no entanto não têm o compartimento já construído.
