Ribeira Brava procura parcerias em Espanha e vai receber apoios do Luxemburgo

O concelho da Ribeira Brava poderá vir a ter geminação com município espanhol de Torrevieja e vai receber em breve um donativo da ONG luxemburguesa Comité Spencer depois da visita do presidente Américo Nascimento a estes dois países nos primeiros dias deste mês.
O edil esteve durante uma semana nestes dois países para uma série de encontros com homólogos de municípios onde a comunidade ribeira-bravense está bem inserida.
O convite partiu da Associação Cultural Cabo-verdiana de Torrevieja tendo os trabalhos começado com um encontro o Embaixador de Cabo Verde em Espanha e depois com os patrícios residentes em Madrid, tendo como objectivo informar-lhes sobre o Município da Ribeira Brava e Cabo Verde, de uma maneira geral.
No Sul de Espanha, Américo Nascimento encontrou-se com o Cônsul de Cabo Verde na Comunidade Valenciana tendo sido abordado questões de cooperação entre Espanha e Cabo Verde e a possibilidade de se estabelecer geminação entre Ribeira Brava e Torrevieja. Também se abordou algumas possibilidades de incremento de turismo com São Nicolau e a venda dos apartamentos em Chã de Norte.
O processo de geminação entre Torrevieja e Ribeira Brava ficou em andamento na sequência de um encontro entre os dois presidentes destes dois municípios.
Na sua deslocação a Europa, Américo Nascimento também esteve em Luxemburgo onde decorreu encontro com a Associação EducActions Cap-Vert para análise de possíveis acções de cooperação com Ribeira Brava. A Associação foi recém-constituída para ajudar Cabo Verde em matéria da educação.
Igualmente, o presidente deslocou-se ao norte de Luxemburgo, juntamente com o Presidente e vice-Presidente da Associação Comité Spencer para se inteirar de um donativo a ser enviado para a Ribeira Brava.
Na sua estadia na Europa Américo Nascimento também esteve em França onde entre outras actividades encontrou-se com os Presidentes da Câmaras de Amnéville e de Florange, neste último com a presença da Senhora Embaixadora de Cabo Verde em França, numa cerimónia oficial de homenagem aos emigrantes que chegaram na região em 1964.
