Derrocada bloqueia ligação entre Ribeira Brava e Tarrafal

Ribeira Brava, 01 Out - Uma derrocada no “Caminho Novo”, São Nicolau, bloqueou a ligação entre os municípios da Ribeira Brava e Tarrafal. O desabamento, que aconteceu na madrugada de Domingo, deixou milhares de toneladas de pedras e terra na estrada asfaltada por onde passa a mercadoria descarregada no porto do Tarrafal.
Segundo a Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava, foram tomadas medidas imediatas para desobstruir a via com máquinas e camiões. “As máquinas que estavam a ser utilizadas na limpeza da Vila da Ribeira Brava foram enviadas para o local para desobstruírem o “Caminho Novo”, diz uma fonte na Ribeira Brava.
A derrocada do “Caminho Novo” coincidiu com a visita à ilha de São Nicolau de membros do Conselho Superior da Cruz Vermelha de Cabo Verde, que estiveram no local para avaliar a situação. Elementos das duas edilidades se encontraram na estrada e, juntos, lançaram mãos à obra com a finalidade de desobstruírem, o mais depressa possível, essa via em virtude de haver barcos no porto do Tarrafal com géneros para toda a ilha.
Por outro lado, a visita do Presidente da República à ilha de Chiquinho, que deveria acontecer neste final de semana, foi adiada. A presidência não especifica quais os motivos, mas informa que oportunamente poderá divulgar mais informações ou adiantará outra data para a deslocação de Pedro Pires.
