O Plano Director Municipal da Ribeira Brava (PDM), assim como o Plano Detalhado (PD) da zona de Chã de Norte, foram ratificados pelo Ministério do Ambiente, Habitação e Ordenamento do Território e publicados no Boletim Oficial nº 7, I Série, de 04 Fevereiro de 2013.

A escola primária Luís Gominho já tem uma sala equipada com 10 computadores destinada aos alunos, uma iniciativa da Câmara Municipal que quer fazer de Ribeira Brava um município digital, em que cada escola vai ter pelo menos um computador ligado à internet.

Os Telecentros do município estão mais equipados graças ao donativo do Comité Spencer permitindo que a Câmara Municipal esteja mais perto do desiderato de fazer de Ribeira Brava um município digital, com pelo menos um computador ligado à internet em cada escola e com telecentros devidamente apetrechados.
