Matadouro Municipal

O Matadouro Municipal situa-se na Margosa, a pouco mais de dois quilómetros da vila da Ribeira Brava. Trata-se de uma infra-estrutura moderna, devidamente equipada, construída no quadro do Plano Ambiental Municipal (PAM). Inaugurada a 4 de Dezembro de 2006, o Matadouro destina-se ao abate dos animais.

A qualificação dos recursos humanos, com particular relevância para a elevação das qualificações da população activa constitui uma das prioridades da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava, por se considerar que a melhoria dos níveis de qualificação se revela de importância estratégica para sustentar um novo modelo de desenvolvimento, baseado na inovação e no conhecimento, que assegure a renovação do modelo competitivo da nossa economia e promova uma cidadania de participação. Assim, enquadrando no seu Plano de Actividades, a Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava pretende materializar as políticas na área da formação profissional, dotando os jovens do município e da ilha de S. Nicolau de técnicas e conhecimentos que os possibilita uma maior qualificação para estarem aptos às demandas actuais do mercado de trabalho.
A Câmara Municipal em parceria com o Instituto Emprego e Formação Profissional, Ministério do Ambiente Desenvolvimento Rural e Recursos Marinhos, Ministério da Educação e outros parceiros, pretende transformar o Centro Agro-pecuário do Caleijão num Centro de Formação Profissional, aproveitando a infra-estrutura existente. O Centro beneficiará de alguma restauração e será dotado de estruturas de forma a acolher os cursos profissionais, capazes de capacitar e qualificar os jovens nas mais diversas áreas. Inicialmente será ministrado o curso de Agro-pecuária, para depois alargar os cursos de formação profissional para outras áreas.
