As comunidades emigrantes na Itália, na Holanda e nos Estados Unidos da América (EUA) já podem contactar o presidente da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava, através de uma linha telefónica criada propositadamente para este fim.
o autarca vê nesta medida uma forma de ter os emigrantes mais perto do município que conta com a participação desses filhos da terra para o seu desenvolvimento.
"O objectivo é estarmos cada vez mais unidos com os emigrantes pelo que a comunicação como uma das apostas fortes para este mandato, é a melhor forma para atingir esta meta", explica o presidente.
Sendo assim, já é possível que os emigrantes que queiram falar com Américo Nascimento o façam, durante o horário normal de expediente - das 8:00h às 16:00h (horário de Cabo Verde) - a um baixo custo.
Por exemplo, quem estiver em Roma, pode ligar directamente para o Gabinete do Presidente como se fosse uma chamada para outro número também de Roma.
