Abdução de água Ribeira Brava/Juncalinho inaugurada em ambiente de festa

A Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava inaugurou, na terça-feira, a abdução de água Ribeira Brava/Juncalinho presidido pelo ministro do Ambiente, Habitação e Ordenamento do Território e perante uma grande assistência da comunidade.
Trata-se de um projecto executado por fases, sendo a primeira de Lombinho até a Chã de Norte, a segunda de Chã de Norte a Belém e terceira fase de Morro Brás a Juncalinho, isso porque no percurso compreendido entre Belém e Morro Brás já havia uma abdução.
No entanto foram feitos outros a nível da ligação de água a domicílio, com a localidade de Morro Brás com ligação a 100 por cento e Juncalinho e Belém com taxas elevadas.
O objectivo é que estas três localidades tenham uma cobertura de 100 por cento de água a domicílio no mais curto espaço de tempo.
No total são 22 quilómetros de distância, razão pela qual é considerado um projecto de grande envergadura e que requereu muito esforço, tudo para que as populações dessas zonas possam disfrutar de água de boa qualidade para o consumo de modo a aumentar o seu bem-estar e qualidade de vida.
Financiado pelo Governo através da ajuda da Cooperação Luxemburguesa, o projecto e teve um custo de cerca de 35 mil contos. Para o presidente da Câmara este foi um sonho concretizado, e que para muitos, era quase impossível de realizar.
Para a população de Juncalinho este foi um dia histórico, pois para trás ficaram os dias de penúria de água em Juncalinho.
De modo geral, o objectivo é ter até o final do mandato, uma cobertura de água de 95 por cento em todo o município.
Embora esteja consciente de que não será tarefa fácil, a equipa de Américo Nascimento tem na dessalinizadora de Preguiça uma solução para o problema de água no concelho, que a um custo aceitável irá permitir que todos os munícipes usufruam deste bem precioso.
