Já foi lançado oficialmente o projecto Florestas Urbanas, uma proposta da Câmara Municipal para, entre outros objectivos, debelar a falta de emprego público neste especial nas mulheres chefes de família.

O acto aconteceu em Juncalinho e com este projecto, a edilidade pretende criar postos de trabalho a cerca de 100 mulheres chefes de família em todo mo município.

Outrossim, as florestas urbanas vão aumentar os espaços verdes no município e dar outro embelezamento às localidades.

Na zona de Juncalinho, uma das primeiras a usufruir deste projecto amigo do ambiente, vão ser afixadas 400 plantas, uma tarefa que contará com a mão-de-obra de 20 mulheres.

Esteve no lançamento das Florestas Urbanas o ministro do Ambiente, Habitação e Ordenamento do Território, Antero Veiga, que elogiou a iniciativa da Câmara Municipal e incentivou a população, principalmente a comunidade educativa a tirar o maior proveito deste projecto.

Antero Veiga defende que é nos mais pequenos que reside a esperança de ter um ambiente mais saudável, pois “não há nada melhor do que uma criança a cuidar de uma planta”.
