A ilha de São Nicolau vai ganhar um novo cartão-de-visita com a entrada em funcionamento do novo terminal de passageiros regozijou-se o presidente da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava por ocasião de uma visita às obras.
Américo Nascimento deslocou-se com a sua equipa ao aeroporto da Preguiça, nesta terça-feira, para se inteirar do andamento das obras que já entraram na sua “velocidade cruzeiro”.
Com o término das obras agendado para o dia 16 de Agosto e a inauguração para a primeira quinzena de Setembro, o terminal de passageiros mostra, na opinião do autarca, que é preciso acreditar que é possível as coisas acontecerem, ainda que não no tempo e ritmo esperados.
“Apesar dos constrangimentos, valeu a pena a espera desta grande obra que pela sua qualidade mostra que ficamos a ganhar, pois as condições ora existentes são muito más”, ressaltou o presidente.
A partir de Agosto, diz Américo Nascimento, quem chegar a São Nicolau vai ter “o prazer de dar de caras” com uma infraestrutura de qualidade representando deste modo o primeiro cartão-de-visita da ilha de Chiquinho.
Por seu turno, o director de engenharias e manutenção das infraestruturas portuárias, Nuno Santos salientou o apoio institucional da Câmara Municipal da Ribeira Brava no desenvolvimento deste projecto que muitos ganhos vai trazer para o município e para a ilha.
O novo terminal de passageiros está orçado em mais de 100 mil contos, embora este orçamento tenha sido acrescido devido às condições de logística que a ilha oferece segundo informações dos responsáveis da ASA, empresa que financia este projecto.
O modelo de terminal baseado em tecnológica flexível é usado em alguns países como Egipto, Marrocos, Portugal e Alemanha, mas pioneiro em cabo Verde.
