Ribeira Brava poderá vir a ter geminação com município de Ridderkerk na Holanda

O município da Ribeira Brava poderá vir a ter uma geminação com o município holandês de Ridderkerk, depois de um encontro entre os dois autarcas, na sequência de uma deslocação de Américo Nascimento a esse país europeu.
A convite da Associação Clube Cultural e Recreativo de São Nicolau, formado por emigrantes, o presidente fez uma visita de uma semana a Holanda onde foi aproveitou para se reunir com a sua homóloga de Ridderkerk e reiterou o convite de visitarem o município da Ribeira Brava.
Posto isto, ficou o compromisso de uma delegação do município holandês, acompanhada de empresários na área da agricultura, se deslocar em 2014 ao concelho da Ribeira Brava.
A acompanhar esta delegação também poderão vir representantes do Farel College, um liceu de Ridderkerk, estabelecimento de ensino que Américo Nascimento visitou.
“Ao recebermos esta visita vamos estar em condições de estabelecer as formas concretas de cooperação e parceria, particularmente na área agrícola”, esclarece o edil, ao mesmo tempo que faz saber que também visitou duas empresas de transformação de produtos agrícolas.
Para além desse encontro decorreram outros com a comunidade emigrante na Holanda para dar a conhecer alguns projectos do executivo camarário assim como para homenagear pessoas, grupos e associações que têm contribuído para o desenvolvimento de Ribeira Brava e São Nicolau.
Americo nascimento classifica, por isso, de excelente esta deslocação a Holanda já que se desenham novas perspectivas para o município.
